Design and Construction.

We take great pride in the design and construction our teardrop campers.

We design using CAD software and then covert the drawings into cut files ready to be cut out on our CNC router. This ensures that all the parts are accurate and fit together with tight tolerances.

We also design and make our own parts out of machine grade aluminium and acrylic including the roof rack brackets, gas bottle holder, gas strut brackets, decal badges and switch panel bezels. This gives us complete control in our how teardrop campers trailers look and perform.

All aluminium parts are powder coated to durable finish which is highly resistant to scratching and chipping.

Birch Plywood.

The main construction material for our teardrop camper trailers is WISA Birch plywood imported from Finland. This plywood is made up of 1.4mm thick laminations making it a very strong and stable material. Once the parts have been cut out they are sanded and three coats of satin marine lacquer are applied before it is put together using epoxy glue and stainless steel screws.

Chassis.

Our Chassis are made from fully welded box section steel and are coated with ‘Raptor Coatings’ a very hard wearing product especially designed for this purpose. We use leaf spring suspension, 14” wheels and fit electric brakes if required depending on the tow vehicles towing/braked capacity.

12 volt DC and 240 volt AC Electrical systems.

We have chosen to use Enerdrive for our preferred 12 volt DC battery charger, 240 volt AC battery charger and the 125Amp hour Lithium battery which is the one of best on the market. The advantage of using components from one manufacturer is that they all work together in unison with no problems. Our systems are set up for the battery to be charged from the tow vehicle whilst on the move, 240 volt AC mains power at home or on a camp site or via a portable solar panel which is plugged into an Anderson socket situated on the front of the campers ‘A’ frame. The Lithium battery technology allows the full power of the battery to be used as apposed to the AGM type battery where they can only be used to 50% of their rated power. This means in order to have the same amount of power available using AGM batteries you would need twice as many. Another advantage of Lithium batteries is that they weigh 50% of an AGM battery saving not only weight in the camper trailer but space too.
